Rooted in a desire to create compelling and thought-provoking imagery of nature, my photography aims to encourage my viewers to see the natural world through a more emotive perspective. I draw from a range of photographic approaches—macro, wildlife, landscape, and conceptual—to capture the earth’s inherent elegance. Through this versatility, I hope to foster an ongoing dialogue between my work and its audience.

Vision

Philosophy

By blending incisive commentary with striking, aesthetic imagery, I believe my work is best described as visual explorations into the intersectionality of the natural and urban worlds.

Often, wildlife photography can come across as documentary-like and clinically precise — more concerned about scientific accuracy than feeling what the subjects are. Thus, I approach my subjects with reverent awe and a sensitivity to the earth’s fragility. When looking at my images, I hope to provoke the same vulnerable conscientiousness that I possess for the earth.

With human lifestyle and presence rapidly negatively affecting the earth’s state, I believe it’s important to remain steadfast in advocating the integrity of this earth, especially when the encroachment of land feels relentless.

ABOUT

(She/her)

Before the smartphone camera revolution arrived, as a kid, I always carried a tiny point-and-shoot camera. Much to my friend's’ chagrin, I filmed and photographed them constantly, ranging from at school, at their homes, during soccer practice and walking home — and, well, when I was 11, I even documented my two friends breaking up… they were justifiably annoyed. I still feel guilty about it as an adult.

But now? Well, as an adult, I still carry a camera around, albeit with far different intentions, and much better technical knowledge beyond understanding how to use the self-timer.

Now, an honourable mention holder of the Luxembourg Art Prize, photography is very much ingrained in me. I’m so used to holding one, I sometime forget one’s in my hands, and as someone who is very clumsy, that isn’t really… good.

Based in the Okanagan, I enjoy paddle-boarding and kayaking. And if you’ll let me, I will give you a detailed explanation about why the Insomniac Games Spiderman is better than the MCU version.
